The elimination of components of a Black Life Make any difference mural to permit for the reopening of Cincinnati’s Plum Street was halted on Sunday, June 21, as city council associates explained they would rethink the potential use of the avenue, documented. Alandes Powell, who structured the work, wrote on Fb that the artists and volunteers had started to get rid of tape that was covering road markings, which would be required to be seen for the street to open. Powell claimed this would have only a compact impact on the mural, but that they were told to stop taking away the tape, “because the Town was reviewing solutions of what we could do to retain the paintings in tact [sic].” Powell also shared a proposed motion from a metropolis council member to completely shut and pedestrianize the portion of Plum Avenue exactly where the mural was created.
