Two more charged over violent brawl

Two further men have been charged over a violent attack in a north Brisbane park that left a 19-year-old dead and several others injured.

The Redbank Plains men, aged 19 and 26 have both been charged with one count of murder, 12 counts each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, and one count each of affray and disobedience to lawful order over their alleged roles in the O’Callaghan Park brawl in Zillmere on Sunday.

A total of 12 people have now been charged over the incident.

The attack left 19-year-old Girum Mekonnen dead, after he succumbed to his injuries sustained from stabbing and bashing.

Both men will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.

It comes after another 10 men were mentioned in court on Thursday.

Kresto Wal Wal, Yohana Wal Wal, Gabreal Wal Wal, Santo Wal, Majok Riel Majok, Anas Ayman Abdu Musa and Joseph Lokolong were arrested on Wednesday.

Three other men, Juma Makuol Deng Makuol, Chan Kuchmol Kon and Alex Edward Deng, were also taken into custody.

None of the men made applications for bail, and will next appear in court on November 16.

Police say investigations are continuing.
