High-priced recruit Zac Williams will return but Paddy Dow and Sam Petrevski-Seton have again been axed ahead of Carlton’s clash against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.
Williams (foot soreness) missed last week’s stirring win over Essendon but has been recalled to face a Bulldogs’ unit determined to rebound from a humbling loss to Richmond. Jack Silvagni, having overcome a shoulder injury, also returns for his first senior match since round four.
However, former skipper Marc Murphy (neck) will again be on the sidelines, leaving him nine matches short of becoming the sixth Blue to 300 matches.
Teague has tipped a high-octane clash at Marvel Stadium against the potent Bulldogs, declaring his team, which booted 123 points against the Bombers, was suited to a free-flowing style.
Dow was dropped after the stinging loss to Port Adelaide but returned against the Bombers, having only six touches before he was subbed out because of an eye injury. However, the Blues said he had been omitted when naming a side that will be without Mitch McGovern (hamstring) for up to 10 weeks.
Petrevski-Seton was axed for the first time in his career last week but won a reprieve as the medical substitute. He was pushed into the midfield at times and had 14 disposals but has yet to show where his best spot is. He and Dow were named as emergencies, along with big man Tom De Koning and Will Setterfield, with one to be the medical substitute.
The Bulldogs have been dealt a blow, with frontline ruckman Stef Martin dealing with Achilles soreness, meaning youngster Jordan Sweet returns for only his second senior match and will carry the load as Tim English will miss a second week because of concussion. As already confirmed by the Bulldogs, Buku Khamis, a refugee from South Sudan who spent time in a refugee camp in Kenya, will debut while the career of Josh Schache hangs in the balance after he was again axed. Rhylee West was also dropped.
Hawthorn have been boosted by the return of Chad Wingard (soreness) for the clash against West Coast at the MCG but star midfielder Jaeger O’Meara (soreness) will again miss.
