Riverdale’s Camila Mendes and Charles Melton Spotted Out Together More Than One Year After Split

Riverdale co-stars and exes Camila Mendes and Charles Melton were photographed at a restaurant with friends more than a year after they broke up.

Are Riverdale‘s Camila Mendes and Charles Melton back on?

On Friday, June 4, the co-stars, who broke up in late 2019, were enjoying an outdoor dinner with fellow cast member Cole Sprouse, his twin brother Dylan Sprouse, and model Stella Maxwell at the French restaurant La Poubelle Bistro in Los Angeles. Camila, 26, and Charles, 30, were even twinning in bright yellow tops!

At the end of their meal, Charles was photographed with his arm around Camila as they walked together to his classic car. They both got inside the vehicle and drove off.

Friday marked the first time the two stars, who play Veronica Lodge and Reggie Mantle on the CW drama, have been photographed in public together since their breakup. However, since their split, they have continued to spend time together along with their co-stars filming Riverdale, and have hung out with the cast members off-set—as seen in pics Lili Reinhart posted on Instagram in early May.

A source told E! News in December 2019 that Camila and Charles are “taking a break from their relationship, adding that the romance had “escalated very quickly and they are taking time now to focus on their work and themselves.”

The actors have not commented on their relationship status or their last split.

Had a clear out, Charles? Future King hosts video call in front of just single photo of him with the Queen, Prince William and Prince George… after previously sitting by sideboard heaving with snaps of Harry and the rest of family

Prince Charles has given a video message about the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year with just a single photo of his mother, eldest son and eldest grandchild behind him amid growing concerns about Prince Harry’s brutal criticism of his upbringing and his ‘pot-shots’ at the Royal Family from LA.

The Prince of Wales has been seen throughout the pandemic on video calls from his offices at Highgrove or Birkhall with an array of family photos behind him, including several of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their son Archie.

But the heir to the throne launched a campaign to plant millions of trees to celebrate his mother’s Platinum Jubilee next year, with just a single framed photo of himself with the Queen, Prince William and Prince George – the line of succession to the throne.

It came as Harry hinted he was ready to pour his heart out again about his mother Diana’s death and his  relationship with his father in an emotional trailer for a new mental health documentary for Apple, due for release on Friday. The Duke of Sussex also appeared to question his father’s parenting in a podcast last week.

Royal insiders have expressed their exasperation at Harry and say it is becoming impossible for the family to repair their fractured relationships because of his insistence at taking ‘pot-shots’ from across the Atlantic.

While another source told the Mirror: ‘There is concern given the Duke and Duchess’s recent claims as to just what they may have said to Winfrey. They have not held back in their allegations and there is nothing to suggest they won’t make further ones’. MailOnline has asked Clarence House to comment.

Harry’s criticism of his childhood is merely echoing details shared by a younger Prince Charles in a biography about his own unhappy upbringing, sources close to the Sussexes suggest.

The Duke of Sussex, 36, faced a backlash from Royal aides on Monday after they claimed he had shown a ‘woeful lack of compassion’ for his family by implying Prince Charles and the Queen had failed him as a child.

Speaking to Dax Shepard, host of the ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast, Prince Harry said that his father had treated him ‘the way he was treated’, with Harry asking himself ‘so how can I change that for my own kids?’.

The Duke then went on to add that he and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, had made the move to the US to ‘break the cycle’ of ‘genetic pain’ he had experienced growing up.

Senior palace aides told The Mail on Sunday of a growing sense of ‘bewilderment and betrayal’, and even called for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to give up their titles following Prince Harry’s latest ‘disgraceful’ assault on the Royal Family.

Royal courtiers also claimed the Prince had shown a ‘woeful lack of compassion’ and ‘thrown others under the bus’ during the latest podcast interview, The Telegraph reports.

But sources close to Prince Harry were quick to point out that Prince Charles had lived through his own tell-all moment in a 1994 when he authorised Jonathan Dimbleby to write The Prince of Wales: A Biography, following extensive personal interviews with the Prince, The Telegraph reports.

In the book Dimbleby wrote of Charles’ unhappy childhood with details the Prince laid bare. The book was largely interpreted as Charles’s account of the breakdown of his marriage to Princess Diana.

The comparison comes as a new trailer for the Duke of Sussex and Oprah Winfrey’s new Apple TV+ mental health series featured a video of the young prince alongside his father Prince Charles at his mother Princess Diana’s funeral 24 years ago.

The stand-out feature of the trailer comes as a 13-year-old Harry is shown watching Diana’s coffin passing him during her funeral in London in 1997.

Charles can be seen speaking to his heartbroken son as a female voiceover says over dramatic music: ‘Treating people with dignity is the first act’. Harry tells Oprah: ‘To make that decision to receive help is not a sign of weakness. In today’s world more than ever, it is a sign of strength.’

The trailer for ‘The Me You Can’t See’ – which is set to be released this Friday – features Meghan, Archie and a major hint that the Duke will again pour his heart out about the Royal Family and his relationship with Charles.

It includes tearful interviews with singer Lady Gaga, actress Glenn Close and US chat show queen Oprah herself as well as a feature on a Syrian refugee named Fawzi, described as a hero on the programme.

The two-minute promo, which was released on the Archewell website and YouTube, will likely be seen as another barbed attack on the Royal Family and spark fresh pain for Charles, coming so soon after Prince Harry said he quit as a frontline royal to ‘break the cycle’ of ‘genetic suffering’.

Prince Harry’s complaints about upbringing ‘no different to Charles talking about his’

The Duke of Sussex’s complaints about his upbringing are no different to his father’s criticism of his own parents in an authorised biography by Jonathan Dimbleby, sources close to Prince Harry have suggested.

In a podcast, the Duke, 36, implied he had been failed not only by the Prince of Wales but through association, by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh too.

He said his father treated him “the way he was treated” as he revealed that he moved to the US to “break the cycle” of “genetic pain” for his own children.

The comments were reportedly met with bewilderment by the Royal family, who considered it a betrayal. Aides said he had shown a “woeful lack of compassion” and questioned why the Sussexes continued to use their royal titles when they appeared so disillusioned with the institution. But sources close to the Sussexes pointed out that Prince Charles had lifted the lid on his own unhappy childhood in Dimbleby’s 1994 book, The Prince of Wales: A Biography, with which he cooperated extensively.

It recently emerged that in his new Apple TV mental health series, the Duke would be talking about his mother’s death and the experience of having to walk behind her coffin at her funeral.

The five-part documentary, The Me You Can’t See, will be released on Friday.

A trailer released yesterday showed Prince Harry, then 12, in the procession for the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1997. He is shown looking upset, with his hand shaking as he holds it to his mouth.

The series marks the latest in a string of media projects in which he has spoken at length about his experience growing up as a member of the Royal family and the traumatic aftermath of his mother’s death.

He was filmed in conversation with co-presenter Oprah Winfrey, the US television chat show host, saying: “To make that decision to receive help is not a sign of weakness. In today’s world more than ever, it is a sign of strength.”

Aussie man claims to have more ‘proof’ he is Prince Charles and Camilla’s son

The Aussie man who claims he is Prince Charles and Camilla’s secret son has revealed a staggering new connection to the royals.

Queenslander Simon Dorante-Day, has made headlines worldwide after claiming he is a royal love child.

He was born in the UK in April 1966 before being adopted by a family in Portsmouth, England, who had links to the Queen. The 55-year-old claims he was conceived in 1965 by a 17-year-old Charles and 18-year-old Camilla.

He released a new photo from 1990, which shows an uncanny resemblance to Prince Andrew, reported 7News.

“Prince Andrew is only six years older than me,” he told the media outlet.

“But there’s no denying the likeness, which makes sense given that I believe he is my uncle.

“A lot of people think this is actually a photo of a younger Prince Andrew when they first look at it.”

When Mr Dorante-Day’s shared the photo with his Facebook followers, many case were stunned by the “undeniable” resemblance.

“Wow you look like Andrew. I had to look three times,” one wrote.

“Wow, I thought this was Prince Andrew,” another said.

He has shared multiple pictures comparing himself and his family to royal members, including an image of his son Liam next to a photo of the Queen in her 20s.

RELATED: Meghan’s secret money problem

Mr Dorante-Day said he also remembered being teased for having big ears as a child but claims he must have had surgery when he was young to get them pinned back as photos show they are “definitely different” now.

The royal family has never responded to Mr Dorante-Day’s claims but he is so confident that he is preparing to take the couple to court in order to demand a DNA test in the coming months.

But he has said his belief that Charles and Camilla are his parents are not based on photos.

Here is a list of everything Mr Dorante-Day has offered as proof of his royal lineage.

The many comparison photos

Over the years Mr Dorante-Day and his followers have created multiple comparison photos they believe show remarkable similarities between his family and the royals.

On one photo showing him alongside Prince Philip, Mr Dorante-Day said his wife pointed out a similarity in their chins.

“I know a lot of you say you see Phillip in my features, and so do I, but this clearly shows it!” he wrote.

On a photo of his son Liam beside a young Prince Charles many people commented that they could definitely see similarities between the pair.

“Wow your son is the image of Charles,” one person wrote.

Others thought he was the “spitting image of a young Queen”.

His adoptive grandparents worked for the Queen

The 55-year-old claimed his adoptive grandparents, Winifred and Ernest, worked as a cook and gardener for the Queen and Prince Philip.

He said his during his childhood his grandmother repeatedly told him he was Prince Charles and Camilla’s son.

“She didn’t just hint at it, she told me outright,” Mr Dorante-Day previously said.

Mr Dorante-Day was adopted by a local couple named Karen and David Day when he was eight months old.

He previously claimed Camilla had kept him until that time but the adoption was arranged through his adoptive grandmother when he started to get too old.

The couple’s murky timeline and Camilla’s brief social scene absence

Mr Dorante-Day has spent years researching the royals and the timeline of Prince Charles and Camilla’s relationship, saying the dates for when they first met change depending on the source of the information.

He claims he was conceived by a in 1965 by a 17-year-old Charles and 18-year-old Camilla.

“One of the first things we did was get all the biographies that we could at the time and look this thing up and look at the times to see where Charles and Camilla were, who otherwise could be involved,” he told Sunrise this week.

“I did do my research, so the timelines are gaps, people need to come forward and come clean.”

He said he research led him to discover that in the months leading up to his birth Camilla disappeared from the UK social scene for at least nine months while Charles was sent to Australia.

Mr Dorante-Day also revealed he has recollections of being taken to houses around Portsmouth as a young boy where he would spend time with a woman he believes was Camilla. He said protection officers and his adoptive parents would wait outside during these visits.

His birth certificate is ‘complete rubbish’

Mr Dorante-Day told Sunrise his birth certificate is “complete rubbish” and said the documentation he has from his adoption is written in his adoptive mother’s handwriting.

He said there is “lots of bits of evidence” like this that he needs to prove through avenues like handwriting analysis.

“I have a lot of evidence and I’m slowly collecting more. The longer this thing runs the more they are going to get it on their face, not me,” he said.

He also claimed the hospital listed on his birth certificate didn’t deliver a single baby during the decade he was born.

He also believes the names the parents listed on his birth certificate were “fictitious”.

Charles William Davidson was described as a “predator” during sentencing in the District Court in Brisbane this morning.

The court heard Davidson preyed upon clients at his home or at physiotherapy or chiropractic clinics in Brisbane, Maryborough and Hervey Bay.

While offering massage services, he committed offences that included touching the semi-dressed or naked clients on the nipples and groin areas as well as digital penetration.

The crimes occurred over a 12-year period beginning in 2003.

Charles takes over brother Andrew’s former patronage

he Prince of Wales has become patron of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) – a role previously held by his brother the Duke of York

Andrew was relinquished of the post by the RPO Board in November 2019 following the controversy around his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein

He stepped down from public duties following his disastrous Newsnight interview in which he was accused of lacking empathy for Epstein’s victims.

Heir to the throne Charles stressed the importance of protecting the arts during the pandemic.

The orchestra, which has welcomed a new music director, Vasily Petrenko, has pledged to help communities recover from the Covid-19 crisis as it prepares to mark its 75th anniversary.

RPO managing director James Williams said he was honoured to have Charles as patron.

“At the RPO, we have been hard at work for some months, shaping a bold strategy for our concert, community engagement, inclusion and education programmes to enrich communities when it matters most; we aim to help people and businesses to rebuild after the long, dark months of lockdown,” he said.

“With the announcement of the Prince of Wales as our patron and the appointment of Vasily Petrenko as our new music director, the RPO is well placed to lead the resurgence and spread the joy of orchestral music in a post-Covid world.”

Andrew was involved in supporting the RPO for 15 years.

The funeral of his father the Duke of Edinburgh, on April 17, was his first appearance at an official royal event since he ended his time carrying out public duties.

Andrew has faced calls to speak to US prosecutors and the FBI, which intensified after his friend Ghislaine Maxwell was charged with recruiting girls for Epstein to sexually abuse.

Virginia Giuffre who says she was trafficked by Epstein as a teenager, said in an interview with BBC Panorama that she was left “horrified and ashamed” after an alleged sexual encounter with the duke in London in 2001.

Andrew categorically denies he had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Ms Giuffre.

DAN WOOTTON: Prince Charles heads to his Welsh bolthole to grieve privately for his father and ‘contemplate the future of the Royal Family’ – after holding extraordinary funeral summit with William and Harry

Prince Charles has left for his cottage in Wales to privately grieve the loss of his father – following an extraordinary summit with Prince William and Prince Harry immediately after Prince Philip’s funeral.

I have learned the grief-stricken Prince of Wales fled to Llwynywermod in Llandovery on his own within 24 hours of his father being laid to rest.

He departed after a face-to-face meeting within the grounds of Windsor Castle with his two sons, where they started the ‘baby steps’ towards a reconciliation following Harry and Meghan’s bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview.

But, in an unprecedented development that lays bare the depth of their rift, Charles and William preferred to meet with Harry together so that nobody’s words could be misconstrued afterwards.

A senior royal insider said: ‘Obviously after the worldwide fallout of the Oprah interview trust has to be rebuilt.

‘There was no official wake after the funeral, but Charles, William and Harry took the opportunity to speak and catch-up face to face after many months apart.

‘They were only able to spend a short time together outdoors given Covid restrictions and also without staff, including senior courtiers, overhearing what was being said.

‘It was important to Charles and William that they were both there together. It means nothing spoken about can be misconstrued in the future.’

Given the tensions, sparked by claims of racism and uncaring behaviour by the Royal Family when Meghan says she was suffering from mental health issues, a full rapprochement did not occur.

Another senior royal insider said: ‘There is much pain and hurt on both sides, so this reconciliation will take place in baby steps.

‘First, they need to decide on some ground rules as to how they conduct business going forward in a way that makes all parties feel safe and protected.’

Crucially, Charles and William have the Queen’s support to deal with the situation.

The source explained: ‘The Queen has made it clear to senior advisers that she is united with Charles and William, and was disappointed with aspects of Harry and Meghan’s interview.’

Harry remains in Windsor on an open-ended ticket, with a source revealing earlier today that he could stay for the Queen’s 95th birthday on Wednesday before returning to his pregnant wife in California later in the week.

But Charles decided he needed to contemplate on a solitary basis in peace at his Welsh hideaway, a £1.2million converted farmhouse in the Brecon Beacons.

It is believed his wife Camilla has remained in London, where she is continuing with private commitments.

My source added: ‘Charles felt he wanted to reflect alone.

‘He also wants to attend to the thousands of letters sent to him in condolence of his father’s death.

‘He is acutely aware that this is a hugely significant moment in his life and he feels like he has the weight of the world of his shoulders.

‘All his life he has been heir to throne, but Prince Philip was the patriarch of the family.

Royal family sustained in their grief for Philip by public support, says Charles

T

he royal family are being helped through this “particularly sad time” by the public outpouring of support following the death of the “much-loved” Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales has said.

Charles spoke movingly of his “dear Papa”, who he said had devoted himself to the Queen his family and the country for some 70 years.

The UK is officially in a period of national mourning for the next week, up to and including Philip’s funeral on Saturday afternoon.

A remembrance service will be held at Canterbury Cathedral on Sunday, with the Archbishop of Canterbury in attendance.

Next Saturday’s royal service in St George’s Chapel Windsor Castle, will be like no other, with the Queen and her family wearing face masks and socially distancing as they gather to say their final farewell amid coronavirus restrictions.

Speaking from his Gloucestershire home of Highgrove, Charles said his father had “given the most remarkable, devoted service to the Queen, to my family and to the country, but also to the whole of the Commonwealth”.

He added: “As you can imagine, my family and I miss my father enormously,” and said Philip would be “deeply touched” by the people around the world sharing “our loss and our sorrow”.

Charles said: “My dear Papa was a very special person who I think above all else would have been amazed by the reaction and the touching things that have been said about him, and from that point of view we are, my family, deeply grateful for all that.

“It will sustain us in this particular loss and at this particularly sad time.”

While Charles spoke for the family on Saturday, his siblings visited the Queen – with the Duke of York and Princess Royal spotted at Windsor.

Meghan and Harry’s Oprah interview; Kate Middleton made Duchess cry; Prince Charles stopped taking calls; couple expecting baby girl; Palace concerned about Archie’s skin

Meghan reveals she wrote letters begging the institution not to withdraw all security for the family. She wrote requesting that even if she and baby Archie weren’t to receive security any more, that they not pull Prince Harry’s security.

“I’ve seen the letters, I’ve seen the death threats,” she says of the risk to Harry, explaining that she was desperate for at least one of them to still have some level of protection.

Meghan also denies she was the architect of “Megxit,” saying she approached the job wanting to do well (she notes she was given no training though, having to stay up late and night and desperately try to learn the British national anthem so she didn’t embarrass herself in public). But on the flipside, Harry says he never would’ve left without her: “I was trapped but I didn’t know I was trapped.”

Oprah’s sceptical. How is a prince, born and raised in such immense privilege, “trapped?”

Harry says he was “trapped within the system, like the rest of my family are. My father and my brother: They are trapped. They don’t get to leave.”

Harry says it’s a mistake to think he was enjoying life in the royal family because you’ve seen him smiling and shaking hands in photos: “That’s part of the job.” He thinks his mother would be “furious” about Megxit, because of the lack of support received that led them to take this drastic action.

New Charles Darwin University vice-chancellor pledges growth after cuts to courses and staff

Charles Darwin University’s new vice-chancellor plans to expand course offerings in a bid to attract more students, after several years of course cuts and job losses at the institution.

Professor Scott Bowman, who will take up the job in May, said he plans to grow the university with a focus on emerging industries such as health, engineering and space.

“If you look at my history in higher education, I think you would have to say there is going to be more courses; there’s going to be more education,” he said.

“I really want to make it the university of choice for people in the Territory.

“I want to see far more of our school leavers and mature students come into the university.”

Professor Bowman, currently a Western Sydney University deputy vice-chancellor, will take over from Professor Simon Maddocks, who resigned last year to be closer to his family.

The new vice-chancellor identified the health workforce and renewable energy as two areas the university could focus on.

“I definitely think around energy, around renewables, green energy, there’s great potential to look at that,” he said.

“One place that would be perfect for space exploration is the Northern Territory.

“I’ll definitely be thinking about whether we can link in with that.”

The Sydney-based company Equatorial Launch Australia is developing a commercial space launchpad near Nhulunbuy in Arnhem land.

The centre is expected to become operational later this year.

Charles Darwin University has come under fire for cutting courses and jobs in a bid to reduce its multi-million-dollar deficit — including a restructure that saw 77 jobs cut late last year.

The university’s 2019/20 financial statement showed the institution had a $5.7 million deficit at the end of the last financial year.

The institution announced a series of course cuts and job losses last year.(ABC News)

Professor Bowman said CDU was now in a position to increase education offerings, including vocational education courses, despite 19 VET courses being cut last year.

“We will be very clever and very careful with investment we make, but I think we have room to make investment where we’re going to get a return,” Professor Bowman said.

“We can offer things in the university that no other university can offer, in environmental science, Indigenous studies, in some aspects of engineering in renewables.”

Professor Bowman began his professional life as a radiographer, working in several London hospitals before tutoring and lecturing in the university sector.

He also served as the vice-chancellor and president of Central Queensland University and deputy vice-chancellor and registrar at James Cook University.

Professor Bowman said by offering quality education for Territorians, more interstate and international students would enrol.

“Northern Australia has such an important role to play in the future of Australia … I think [CDU] is Australia’s most strategically important university,” he said.

“If you have a look at the Northern Territory, it’s just so important in biosecurity, water security, food security, defence security.”
