Bledisloe Cup rugby 2020, Wallabies vs All Blacks live updates, score, video, highlights, lineouts, Folau Fainga’a, Jordie Barrett try

It’s been their Achilles heel in recent years and early signs suggested the Wallabies lineout woes are still a major area of improvement for Dave Rennie to work on.

The Wallabies were not helped by the fact that Rory Arnold picked up a forearm injury which forced a re-think.

Arnold was at the top of Rennie’s hit list as a lineout caller.

A poor throw from Folau Fainga’a into the Australians’ second lineout saw the Wallabies turn the ball over and the All Blacks were quick to make them pay.

Bledisloe Cup 2020, Wallabies vs All Blacks, Australia v New Zealand, result, score, analysis, stats, highlights

Australia left Sky Stadium last week with Dave Rennie saying he was “disappointed” not to come away with the most unlikely of debut victories as Wallabies coach and vowed to work on the key areas which mean that a draw was all they could manage.

He went quickly about his business, dropping four players from the squad despite impressive performances, with a view to improving the once seemingly terminal problems at the lineout while also focusing on attacking the breakdown where New Zealand were so dominant.

And it worked.

The Wallabies won more and lost fewer rucks that the All Blacks with a 96 per cent success rate on the ground compared to New Zealand’s 93 per cent. Last week they lost more than double the number the Kiwis did.

They also just one of their 11 lineouts compared to three of their 10 from last week and had a 100 per cent success rate at the scrum – twice as good as the week before. They conceded fewer penalties and fewer turnovers, too.

Welcome to Fox Sports’ LIVE coverage of Bledisloe II between Australia and New Zealand at Eden Park.

The Dave Rennie era of the Wallabies is well and truly underway as he kicked off his tenure as Australia head coach last week with a thrilling 16-16 draw against the All Blacks at Sky Stadium.

It was so close to a victory – one that no one would have begrudged them – had Reece Hodge’s mammoth penalty from inside his own half been a couple of inches more to the left.

And now he must go to Eden Park searching for his first win as coach at a ground where New Zealand haven’t lost for 26 years and where Australia haven’t won for 34.

NRL finals 2020: Adam Reynolds 40/20 kick video, Rabbitohs vs Panthers, score

Rugby league really is a game of inches.

On Saturday night at ANZ Stadium it was only half a boot that robbed South Sydney of what would have been the chance to pull off an epic preliminary final comeback over Penrith.

The Rabbitohs were trailing 16-20 but had plenty of momentum when crafty halfback Adam Reynolds looked to nail a great 40/20 when four minutes left on the clock.

Reynolds shocked the opposition when he accepted a deep backwards pass and stepped up to nail a stab kick into touch inside the opposition 20 metres.
