A woman was trimming trees near a country club lake when a Florida alligator went after her legs.
The 10-foot alligator “ambushed” the 27-year-old North Fort Myers woman and bit her, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
NBC2 reporter Cristina Mendez posted photos of the gator along the lake at Heron’s Glen Road near the Herons Glen Country Club, after it was captured by trappers following the attack on Thursday morning.
The gator measured 10 feet, 4 inches, Mendez said.

The woman was hospitalized with wounds on both of her legs and was in stable condition, according to CBS4 and Associated Press reports.
The gator was reportedly taken to an alligator farm.
