Things aren’t all bad for Melburnians in Stage Four lockdown, with Uber Eats launching a new promotion designed to cheer them up while they stay at home in the fight against the coronavirus.
Locked-down citizens can receive a free dessert for the whole week.
From today until this Friday, people outside of Victoria can send desserts to their friends in Melbourne.

The promotion, known as #lockdownlove applies to anything valued at up to $20, including the delivery fee.
The orders can begin at 8pm, in recognition of the Melbourne curfew which starts at that time.
But be careful – orders are capped at 1000 per day, so best hurry once the clock ticks past eight.
Uber claims that dessert orders have increased by 22 per cent during the past four weeks in Melbourne through the food delivery service.
Especially in the night time when curfew comes into effect and Melbournites have nothing to do but stay at home.
All you have to do is log onto your Uber Eats app, hit the #LockdownLove drop down at the top, and choose whatever you think your Melbourne friends might like.
Today’s free dessert code is ‘mondaylove’, and changes each day according to the weekday.
